Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time and our bodies and our words into instruments of love and hope.- Tom Head
Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.
-- Mother Teresa
-- Henry David Thoreau
-- Crowfoot
No matter what age you are, or what your circumstances might be, you are special, and you still have something unique to offer. Your life, because of who you are, has meaning.- Barbara de Angelis
I cannot believe that the purpose of life is to be "happy." I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be compassionate. It is, above all, to matter and to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all.- Leo C. Rosten
For everyone of us that succeeds, it's because there's somebody there to show you the way out. The light doesn't always necessarily have to be in your family; for me it was teachers and school.- Oprah Winfrey
Let the things that you first fall in love with start with the air you breath and let the thing you end up loving ends with the air you breath. In mastering that, the world is yours now unto eternity. Sarah G Kanneh
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure. Word and Music by Stuart Townend
Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.- John Wesley
What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.-- Pericles
Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is Mystery. Today is a Gift. That's why we call it the Present.-- Author Unknown
New Beginnings
With the dawn of each new day, God's love streams down upon us with opportunities for new beginnings. We have a choice. We can cling to our painful memories. Or, we can open ourselves to be transformed by the new perspectives and activities God brings us.
W. H. Davies
Leisure
WHAT is this life if, full of care,We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
When we forgive, our forgiveness builds a sturdy bridge over which repentance and reconciliation can pass.
Immovable, unshakable, stalwart, mighty, and majestic. No matter what happens, God is the one who is always there for us, the one who can always be counted on to be faithful.
Though voiceless, roses always say it well.
We sometimes forget it, but the truth is that each of us is unique and precious to God. We are so precious, that God has even numbered the hairs on our heads. Jesus spoke of the Good Shepherd who brought the one lost sheep in a hundred back home. In a similar way, God's love and forgiveness are always seeking us out to help us, even when we cannot help ourselves.
Every life has purpose, direct and aim - if you don't know where to start, just be still and wait for the the master creator to come by and lead you. Life if for living!
After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn't it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it? This is how I answer when I am asked -- as I am surprisingly often -- why I bother to get up in the mornings.- Richard Dawkins
Spirituality exists wherever we struggle with the issue of how our lives fit into the greater cosmic scheme of things. This is true even when our questions never give way to specific answers or give rise to specific practices such as prayer or meditation. We encounter spiritual issues every time we wonder where the universe comes from, why we are here, or what happens when we die. We also become spiritual when we become moved by values such as beauty, love, or creativity that seem to reveal a meaning or power beyond our visible world. An idea or practice is "spiritual" when it reveals our personal desire to establish a felt-relationship with the deepest meanings or powers governing life.- Robert C. Fuller
